The James Naismith Performing Arts Program for Young Performers was created in 2000 to memorialize and continue the lifelong work of James Naismith, beloved Elmwood Director, Elmwood Life member and Rockland County Theatre Arts Education pioneer. As a recipient of the Chancellors Award for Excellence in Teaching and the Rockland County Executive Arts Award, his love of theatre, education and the nurturing of creativity continue here at Elmwood.
