Auditions for Italian American Reconciliation
Elmwood Playhouse in Nyack, NY will be holding auditions for its upcoming production of “Italian American Reconciliation“, written by John Patrick Shanley and directed by Peter Garruba. “Italian American Reconciliation” is a joyful celebration of family, friendship, second chances, and amore, from the Oscar-winning writer of “Moonstruck.”
AUDITIONS: Tuesday, October 10 at 7:00 PM and Wednesday, October 11 at 7:00 PM
CALLBACKS: Thursday, October 12 at 7:00 PM (by invitation only)
PERFORMANCES: Friday, January 19 through Saturday, February 10 (Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays with possible Wednesdays and Thursdays)
SHOW DESCRIPTION:
A modern-day folktale, Italian American Reconciliation is a heartwarming story of love lost and found and four young Italians whose declarations of love are also declarations of war.
CAST REQUIREMENTS: (2 males, 3 females)
Aldo Scalicki, male, 30-something. An intense Italian guy, born and raised in Little Italy, New York
Huey Maximillian Bonfigliano, male, 30-ish. Aldo’s best friend since childhood, more vulnerable than Aldo.
Aunt May, female, 50’s – 60’s. A handsome Italian woman in her middle years.
Teresa, female, late 20’s. Huey’s girlfriend, a striking Italian girl.
Janice, female, 30’s. Huey’s ex-wife, a patrician Italian woman with austere good looks – and a gun!
Sides from the script will be made available at the audition. All roles available. Casting is open to all ethnicities and races. Newcomers are especially welcome.
