Auditions for Ouroboros
The Elmwood Playhouse in Nyack NY will be holding auditions for an upcoming staged reading of “Ouroboros”, written by M. J. Edan and directed by Michael Edan. “Ouroboros” is a penetrating drama about psychosis and spiritual awakening in an 18 yr old boy.

SHOW DESCRIPTION:
An eighteen year old boy in Ohio is diagnosed with probable schizophrenia. But does his psychic abilities suggest something else? Is the divine wanting to speak through him?
CAST REQUIREMENTS: (Audition is for one character (a central role))
Jess: 18 yrs old. (seeking actors from 18 up to 30) A versatile and demanding role. Displays periodic symptoms of schizophrenia: hearing voices, occasional thought disorder, variations in emotional affect from occasional assertiveness to extreme withdraw. He is incredibly vulnerable and displays psychic abilities. He possesses a demeanor that is both edgy, dark, mysterious, as well as innocent and otherworldly. He speaks in a subtle West Virginian accent except when he goes into trance. Actor should have solid past experience, as well as physical and mental agility.
The single performance of the play will be a staged reading April 9th at 2 PM as a fundraiser for Elmwood Playhouse. Only 4 or 5 rehearsals in late March and first week of April.
