Board Nominations
The stewardship of our theatre is vital to our success, especially as we continue to come back from our Covid-19 closure. There are three seats up for election to the Board in June 2022, each seat serving a three-year term July 2022 – June 2025.
This term will include the 75th Anniversary year of Elmwood Playhouse in 2023, an important milestone!
If you are an Elmwood member in good standing and interested in running, here is some information: The Board meets every month, attends the monthly Elmwood meeting with the membership and members of the community, and holds a retreat once per year to take a step back and discuss long-term strategy for the playhouse. The retreat takes place in a location outside the Playhouse for a full weekend day. Board members also attend Elmwood performances to meet and greet the public attending our shows.
There will be times when you will be involved in fundraising activities, such as helping with a donor campaign or planning a gala. Looking out for the financial stability of Elmwood is the board’s primary function. There will also be times when a Board member is a Liaison to a mainstage show or a committee, serving as a contact for these activities who can report to the whole Board and help with any issues.
There is a lot more, as Board members are at all times ambassadors for Elmwood Playhouse whether they are in meetings, at performances or out in the community. Elmwood Playhouse has been active for over 74 years in Nyack, and we strive to uphold our values of quality, diversity and communication.
Any members interested in running for the Board can send an email to Board Member Alison Costello at acostello130@gmail.com or Nominations Committee member Kathy Gnazzo at Kgnazzo1@gmail.com by APRIL 22nd to let them know of your interest. Please include how many years you have been a member and any committees you have served on, or shows you have been involved with, in any capacity.
