Special Audition for Children – Two Boys Needed for “The Velveteen Rabbit”
The Elmwood Playhouse in Nyack NY will be holding auditions (children only) for its upcoming production of “The Velveteen Rabbit“, written by James Still based on the Children’s Story by Margery Williams and directed by Derek Tarson.
AUDITIONS: Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 7:00 p.m.
PERFORMANCES: Friday, December 9, 2016 thru Sunday, December 18, 2016 (Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays with possible Wednesday and Thursdays)
SHOW DESCRIPTION:
The beloved classic and heartwarming story of becoming real, set in today’s world. Young Steve, with the special relationship with the Velveteen Rabbit, and his older brother, Ben.
CAST REQUIREMENTS: (2 Boys Needed)
This is a SPECIAL audition for children. Two boys are needed for this enchanting children’s show:
Young Steve (Boy, 7-10, Any Race) — Small boy needed to play six-year-old Steve – the protagonist – who idolizes his older brother, and falls into a deep friendship with his favorite toy, the Velveteen Rabbit.
Ben (Boy, 12-14, Any Race) – Steve’s older brother. Into football and dismissive of his younger brother until a crisis makes him disclose his true and warm feelings.
