This time of year finds many of us giving to our favorite nonprofit organizations. What if you found out that that organization had received a large donation from an even larger corporation that you didn’t like? George Bernard Shaw’s Major Barbara examines this very dilemma. Is Barbara’s nonprofit organization, that helps the homeless, right to accept money that has been obtained by Death and Destruction’?

Full of lively comedy and sparkling debate, Major Barbara is one of Shaw’s most forward-looking plays, brilliantly testing the tensions between religion, wealth and power, benevolence and equality, and realities of war.
