Dana Duff: the Director of the Play That Goes Wrong…that went right!

 In News

The Play That Goes Wrong, Elmwood’s last but not least production for this season that closed last week, definitely went right! The continuous laughs, giggles and gasps as the awesome set fell apart and cast survived mishap after mishap were a credit to the talents of the designers, technical staff, cast and Director Dana Duff.

Although an experienced director, writer and performer of sketch comedy for many years, this was Dana’s Elmwood directorial debut. Her favorite past acting roles at the Playhouse were in Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, Rumors and Pride and Prejudice. Her creativity abounds in her professional life as well as a nonprofit event coordinator, House Manager of the Penguin Theater and the Artistic Director for the upcoming opening of the new Antrim Playhouse in Tappan.

When asked what was particularly special about directing this show Dana says the cast. “I cast them because they are all pros. They proved that to me time and time again with the obstacles we faced as a team. In my brain everything is a sketch comedy scene and we had a lot of laughs. I also like a challenge. If it’s not hard I have no interest. But maybe next time I’ll choose something easier…maybe.”
