“Disgraced” To Open at Elmwood Playhouse in Nyack NY

Elmwood Playhouse of Nyack NY will be presenting “Disgraced“, written by Ayad Akhtar and directed by Omar Kozarsky. “Disgraced” is the Pulitzer Prize winning play about race, freedom of speech, and religion. “Disgraced” runs January 18th 2019 thru February 9th 2019 Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays at 2pm with an additional Thursday performance on February 7th 2019 at 8pm and an additional matinee on Saturday February 9th 2019 at 2pm.

Amir Kapoor, a successful Pakistani-American lawyer, is moving up the corporate ladder while distancing himself from his Muslim roots. When he and his artist wife Emily host a dinner party, a friendly conversation escalates into something far more damaging in this award winning drama.

“Disgraced” features A.M. Bhatt (of Monroe, CT), Meghan Lane (of Brooklyn, NY), Nick Nappo (of Suffern, NY), Pauline Quinones (of Elmsford. NY), and Aaron Sital (of Spring Valley, NY).

A special Talk Back discussion with the cast from “Disgraced” along with special guest Mr. Syed Ali, Administrator for the Iqra Darul Ehsan Mosque will take place with the audience after the performance on Friday January 25th. Additional talk backs with the cast will be held after the performances on Friday February 1st and 7th.
