A Philanthropic Endowment

Elmwood Community Playhouse is a vital part of the cultural arts in Rockland County. For nearly 70 years, we have provided “hands on” experiences in acting, theatrical production and arts management. From entry level to seasoned professional, Elmwood is powered by a gifted array of creative volunteers passionate about theatre.

By providing for Elmwood Playhouse in your estate planning, your generosity will enable theatergoers to continue to enjoy Elmwood’s high-quality productions, and guarantee that future generations will inherit the same life-enhancing opportunities.

Your legacy will live on through a lasting, meaningful connection with Elmwood Playhouse.

Your commitment to Elmwood will be distinguished by including you in our event programs as an esteemed Legacy Society member. You may, of course, choose to remain anonymous, but letting us acknowledge you publicly can inspire others to follow your example.

If you have already included Elmwood Playhouse in your estate plans, please let us know so we can thank you personally. You do not need to provide a copy of the relevant page of the document, but we’d appreciate it if you would. This helps us plan for the future and ensures that your wishes will be carried out as you request.

Legacy Society Giving Options

A charitable bequest through your will or trust is the easiest way to make a lasting gift to Elmwood. A bequest can dramatically reduce estate and inheritance taxes, and can be specified for a fixed amount, a percentage of your estate, or whatever may remain after all other bequests are satisfied.

Gifts Of Retirement – Plan Benefits

Making Elmwood Playhouse a beneficiary of your retirement plan is as easy as changing the beneficiary form with your IRA administrator and designating Elmwood Playhouse as a primary, contingent or partial beneficiary. Benefits left to not for profit organizations such as Elmwood are not subject to income tax or estate tax. Donating retirement benefits will allow you to make a significant gift and use 100% of your money for the benefit of the Theatre.

Gifts Of Life Insurance Policies

Uphold your commitment to the arts by designating the Playhouse as a beneficiary. Insurance gifts enable donors to make a much larger gift than they thought possible, and in most cases a gift of insurance does not significantly reduce their current stream of income.

Your lawyer or tax advisor can assist you in deciding which giving option is the most appropriate for your circumstances and wishes.

We can’t thank you enough for considering a legacy gift to support our future and the community.
