Elmwood Cold Reading series is looking for an African American actor to read the part of Leroy Barksdale/ Herb Forrester in Lynn Nottage’s “By The Way, Meet Vera Stark” Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 11:00 AM

“By The Way, Meet Vera Stark” draws upon the screwball films of the 1930s to take a funny and irreverent look at racial stereotypes in Hollywood. The play is a 70-year journey through the life of Vera Stark…, a headstrong African-American maid and budding actress, and her tangled relationship with her boss, a white Hollywood star…desperately grasping to hold on to her career.”

The Cold reading series occurs monthly on Saturdays at 11:00 am in the Tarson Studio at Elmwood Playhouse. Bagels and coffee are provided. If interested, actors are asked to fill out the Contact form.
