Elmwood Playhouse Hosts Candace Lynn Matthews for Sundays at 7
Award-winning performer and recording artist Candace Lynn Matthews brings her vocal style to Elmwood Playhouse in “The Candace Lyn Matthews Quartet: An Evening of Cole Porter & Standards from the Golden Era” on Sunday, March 26 at 7:00pm.
Candace was seen in the multiple award-winning Elmwood Playhouse production of Night & Day: Love Lost and Found Through the Eyes of Cole Porter, for which she was chosen as Best Performer in a Musical by BroadwayWorld.com. She now returns with her Quartet for one night only! A Bronx native born of Puerto Rican and Chilean descent, Candace received her bachelor’s degree from the Conservatory of Music at SUNY Purchase College and Master’s degree from the Aaron Copland School of Music in Queens College. Credits include: Maria in West Side Story (Opera North), Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi (Queens Symphony Orchestra), Soprano soloist (Carnegie Hall), Susana cover & Ensemble in ¡Figaro! (90210), (Off-Broadway, The Duke on 42nd St), Patron #9 in the World Premier of Stonewall (New York City Opera), and was featured singing on an episode of the hit drama, “Orange Is the New Black.” Candace released her debut Christmas album titled “Baking Spirits Bright” in November, 2020 and in 2021 released a follow up EP, “Spirits Even Brighter.” Both are available on all streaming platforms. http://www.candacelynnmatthews.com
