Elmwood Playhouse Larry D. Gabbard Scholarship Recipients

 In News

Elmwood Community Playhouse is pleased to announce the 2023 recipients of the Larry D. Gabbard Performing Arts Scholarship: GILES UNDERWOOD AND CHRISTIAN BREWSTER.

Giles Underwood, from Nyack High School, brings a vibrant energy and curiosity to his jazz and saxophone studies. He displays a level of enthusiasm, commitment to excellence, and a mature professionalism well beyond his years, but it is his skill, his intensely collaborative spirit, and infectious sense of humor that sets him apart. Giles will be going to Manhattan School of Music as a Jazz performance major.

Community-minded and kindness are words that seem to be repeated time and time again when people speak of Christian Brewster, from Clarkstown South High School. He is keenly aware of how his theatrical talents can transcend barriers and transform audiences. He inspires his peers by always setting an example and gratefully shares his artistic gifts and open-heartedness with everyone. Christian will be attending Hampton University as a Theater major.

Good luck to both these outstanding young men.
