Elmwood Profile: Meet Evelyn Russo

Who is the voice and administrator of the Elmwood box office?  Evelyn. Who coordinates and reports on all goings-on in the theater?  Evelyn. Who works on the playbills, event invites, brochures, programs, etc., etc?  Evelyn.  As Operations Manager for 18 years, and involved Elmwoodian for 36 years, Evelyn states “The hardest part of her job is doing everything, and her favorite part is doing everything.”

And everything she has done – acted, stage managed, worked crew, produced shows, and been a Board member. In addition, as a Life Member since 2011, and only one of two members to get TWO Elm Leaf Awards for contributions above and beyond (the other member being David Vogel), she also met her fellow Elmwoodian, husband Paul, at Elmwood and watched with pride as her 25-year-old daughter, Rachel, grew her passion for theater here.

For Evelyn, Elmwood has become more than a place to satisfy her love of theater; It has become a home. “All the wonderful people I’ve met through the years continue to be my family. There are so many stories, laughter, tears, and losses we’ve shared. There are no age limits, race, religion, or gender that matter here, only heart, soul, and love of theater. I work and play in the best place on earth, with the greatest people on earth.”
