Elmwood Receives Lifesaving Gift of AED
Some gifts are most welcome–even if you hope you never use them! Such is the case with the new AED (automated external defibrillator) given to Elmwood by members Kathy and Brian Simpson.
Brian and Kathy provided a training session at the September membership meeting, which revealed that the AED is remarkably user-friendly. In case of emergency, voice prompts guide the user through the necessary steps. All stage managers and producers at Elmwood are now familiar with the use of the AED in addition to protocols already in place for alerting Emergency Services.
The AED is installed on the wall near the hospitality counter–and we hope it hangs there unused for many years! Nonetheless, it is a vital and welcome addition to our theater. Many thanks to Kathy and Brian for ensuring that our theater has this lifesaving equipment.
