Elmwoodians in Othello with Babbling Brook Players

NOTE: This is NOT an Elmwood event

Derek Tarson directs and Kevin Vislocky stars as Iago in Babbling Brook Players’ production of “Othello” – Shakespeare’s tale of revenge, jealousy, and ill-judged marriage – bedecked with costumes and props circa 1970. (That time period is chosen because the lip service given to racial and gender equality heavily outweighed by lingering discrimination at that time are themes ever-present in the play.)

Admission is free with a suggested donation. Aside from Derek and Kevin, the play features Julian Broughton, Tracy Bratt, Sharon Shahar (from the February workshop of “The Winter’s Tale”), Kevin Masbeck, Bruce Pearl, Mary Laido, Anthony Paglia, and Rich Troiano.

Bring a beach chair and bug spray and sit under the stars for one of the five outdoor performances of Othello at Montebello Park (1 Montebello Road, Montebello, NY 10901) or sit in air-conditioned comfort for our one indoor performance at Waldorf Green Meadow School (307 Hungry Hollow Rd., Chestnut Ridge, NY 10977) The play performs at the following places and times:

Friday, August 3rd at 6:30 – Montebello Park
Saturday, August 4th at 6:30 – Montebello Park
Sunday, August 5th at 6:00 – Waldorf Green Meadow School
Thursday, August 9th at 7:00 – Montebello Park (*Note later time)
Friday, August 10th at 6:30 – Montebello Park
Saturday, August 11th at 6:30 – Montebello Park
