Pride and Prejudice Performs to Benefit the Larry D. Gabbard Performing Arts Scholarship

 In News

The cast, crew, and creative team of Kate Hamill’s Pride and Prejudice, now onstage at Elmwood Playhouse, are proud to offer a special performance on March 23 to benefit the Larry D. Gabbard Performing Arts Scholarship.

Larry was a beloved Elmwood member whose enormous contributions to theatre in our community—both onstage and off–cannot be measured. The scholarship established in his name honors his commitment to the performing arts by recognizing and providing a financial award to a Rockland County high school student who plans to pursue a career in the theater.

“Learning about Larry and his legacy is something I aspire to and hope to have live on in me. . .winning this scholarship showed me I was on the right path.”

Erin Teasdale, 2023 recipient of the Larry D. Gabbard Performing Arts Scholarship

Proceeds from the March 23 performance will benefit the scholarship fund that inspires young people from Rockland County to pursue their goals in any area of theater arts. In addition to delivering a rollicking performance of Kate Hamill’s Pride and Prejudice, the evening will honor Larry and his legacy. Whether you knew Larry, knew of Larry, or want to learn more about Larry and his lasting legacy, please join us for this very special performance of Kate Hamill’s Pride and Prejudice.

The benefit performance for the Larry D. Gabbard Performing Arts Scholarship is on March 23 at 8 pm. Tickets are $35 with all proceeds going to the scholarship fund.
