Public Domain Players Reading Saturday, July 3rd
The Public Domain Players will be presenting two one-acts exploring the ideas of our nation and the free press on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 1:00 p.m.
“Mine Eyes Have Seen” by Alice Dunbar-Nelson – One of the first scripts written by an African-American playwright that’s still available to us. The play addresses the question of what socially disadvantaged people owe to their country when the country doesn’t seem to offer very much to them.
“The People” by Susan Glaspell – How does a failing newspaper serve the people best?
The reading is free and anyone can attend using the Zoom link below. The reading will also be recorded and available on YouTube. If you can’t attend on Saturday, please check out https://www.elmwoodplayhouse.com/events/readings for the YouTube link.
