Public Domain Players to Read Hedda Gabler
At 1pm on August 21st, 2021, the Public Domain Players will be doing a LIVE IN PERSON reading of Henrik Ibsen’s 1891 play Hedda Gabler at Elmwood Playhouse (inside the Sorkin Studio room). The play tells the story of Hedda Gabler, the daughter of a military general who is trapped in a marriage, a house, and a lifestyle all of which she does not want. A feminist play a century ahead of its time, the play has become a staple of the western theater cannon.
The cast for this reading will be:
Robie Livingstone – Hedda Gabler
San Negin – George Tessman
Kelly Kirby – Miss Elvstead
Derek Tarson – Judge Brack
Polly Corman – Aunt Juliana
John Ade – Ejlert Løvborg
Ginny Meissner-Borton – Berta
Carol Napier – Stage Directions
Please email Sam Negin with questions.
The event is FREE to the public.
