Tony Award Winning Lighting Designer Peggy Eisenhauer returns home to Elmwood Playhouse for our Free Educational Tech Event Series.
Elmwood Playhouse, Nyack, NY presents a special Tech Event with world class Tony and Drama Desk Award-winning lighting designer, Peggy Eisenhauer on November 23rd, 2015 from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
Peggy Eisenhauer and collaborator Jules Fisher have been awarded Broadway’s Tony Award for Best Lighting Design 8 times, honored with nearly 30 Tony Award nominations and designed lighting for the films Chicago, The Producers, Dreamgirls, Enchanted, and Burlesque.
Peggy was raised here in Nyack and started her career at Elmwood as a teenager. Under the tutelage of Bob Olson, she began her career in Elmwood’s lighting loft in 1975 and continues to be among the most honored lighting designers in the industry.
“For all of my exposure in the business, I have never seen such a creative and fertile theatre company on the community stage. I am honored to call it my first theatre.” Elmwood is delighted to welcome her home on November 23rd for an interview, stories and advice for aspiring lighting designers. A casual ‘meet and greet’ with refreshments follows the program.
“The Tech Event” is produced by Elmwood Playhouse to promote and further individual talents through stage craft and performances. This invitation is open to all theatre people in high school and college theatre depts., local community theatres, and Elmwood culturally partnered arts organizations.
This event is free and open to the public, but reservations are required as seating is limited. Attending high school and college students receive a free 1 year Elmwood Playhouse Student Membership, (new members under 21 only).
For over 65 years, Elmwood Playhouse in Nyack, NY has provided a home for the artistic community to produce, teach and share the love of theatre. This program is presented by the volunteer members of Elmwood Community Playhouse, an award winning, not-for-profit 501(c)3 theatre serving the community since 1947.
