Add producing the Elmwood’s upcoming (July 26-28)  One Act Play Weekend* to the long list of Steve Bermack’s far-reaching involvement in the Playhouse for the past 27 years. He has utilized his expertise as a certified financial planner in his work as a founding member of the Financial Advisory Committee, serving on the Plant and Gala committees, and on the Board of Directors for the past three years, currently as its Treasurer.

Whether acting in Main Stage and workshop productions, assisting backstage, or having one of his own plays, The Munson Card, presented, Steve says, “I’ve enjoyed being involved with Elmwood in every way, while learning how the theater works and trying to figure out how to help make it better. The Elmwood community means everything to me. I’ve never met a more passionate, empathetic, supportive group of people.”

His favorite part of his new producer’s role is seeing the Elmwood collaborative process on full display bringing the original plays to life. “It was also a pleasure seeing how many local creative playwrights there are, although it made the selection process very difficult. I hope we can turn this original One Act Play weekend into a new Elmwood tradition. It truly embodies the term community in community theater.”
