Sundays at 7 returned with “Once Upon a Time – Telling Stories Through Song”
Elmwood Playhouse brought back the Sundays at 7 series on January 29 in a big way, showcasing the students of Michelle Dawson’s Voice Studio. Twenty-five performers of all ages participated in “Once Upon A Time – Telling Stories Through Song,” presenting musical entertainment to a sold-out house and a standing ovation! Accompaniment was provided by Matthew Hosmer.
The songs presented were almost all from decades of Broadway shows ranging from “My Fair Lady” and “Pal Joey” to “Waitress” and “The Phantom of the Opera.” Singers also performed songs by Renee Rapp and Demi Lovato.
Michelle Dawson’s career on Broadway has spanned a wide range of roles, including appearances in “Showboat,” “Ragtime,” “Mamma Mia!” and “Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark.” She coaches a wide range of students in vocal technique from middle school age, high schoolers and adults, and all were represented in this evening of heartfelt songs on the Elmwood stage! michelle-dawson.com/teaching.
