Carol Napier has been an enthusiastic Elmwood member and performer since 1991. Besides acting in twelve mainstage productions and several workshops and cold readings, she has worked behind the scenes as Producer (Fences), props and set change coordinator (Marvin’s Room), and on crew, lights, and hospitality for many more. She has served on the Play Selection Committee (1994-98), Sunshine Committee, Opening Night Party Committee, and for many years as Playbill Ads Coordinator. In 2001 she was honored with the Golden Elm Leaf award. Before she discovered Elmwood Playhouse, Carol had a seven-year career in college textbook publishing, culminating in acquisitions editor at McGraw-Hill and Executive Editor at Teachers College Press. She holds an MA from Columbia University and an Advanced Certificate in School Psychology from City College. Carol left publishing to work as a bilingual high school psychologist in Manhattan and then for 26 years at Clarkstown HS North. In addition to her volunteer efforts at Elmwood, she spent 17 years as a direct care volunteer at United Hospice and delivers food for Meals on Wheels Rockland.
