Claudia Stefany is a freelance Costume Designer and Stage Director in the greater New York area having recently completed a year as the Associate Artistic Director at the SHAPE Performing Arts Center on a NATO base outside of Brussels, Belgium. A musical theatre major at the University of Cincinnati’s College Conservatory of Music, Claudia went on to graduate from Baldwin-Wallace University in Cleveland, Ohio and was a charter member of the Cincinnati Playhouse-in-the-Park’s acting intern company. She has designed costumes for ACT of CT in Ridgefield, Connecticut and Westchester Broadway Theatre as well as a variety of community theaters and non-Equity venues throughout the tri-state area. She has also served as Wardrobe Supervisor at Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival in Garrison, New York for the past 4 seasons. An Elmwood member for over 14 years, Claudia has directed, produced, performed in, or designed over 20 shows and musicals including Songs for A New World, Spring Awakening, Enchanted April and Sunday in the Park With George among others. Claudia has two children Emma and Sam, lives in Tappan, New York and is a second term board member.
