Margaret Young. After studies in Communications and Theater at the University of Hartford and Music and Voice at the Hartt School in Connecticut, Margaret worked for Hartford Stage as an assistant stage manager. She moved to Brooklyn and worked as an assistant at the notable talent agency ICM. She met her life partner Michael Edan while in Brooklyn and they now live in Orange County. Margaret moved out of the city and worked for the New York State Council on the Arts as coordinator of arts grants for Orange County, creating the Arts in Orange office for assisting arts and cultural groups in their development. She kept her performance skills honed as she came to Elmwood Playhouse in 1997. Since joining Elmwood, Margaret worked as an assistant at a prominent Manhattan law firm supporting authors, composers, filmmakers and Broadway productions. At Elmwood she has produced and performed in over a dozen shows, served on the Board of Directors for 11 years before stepping down, directed two mainstage shows and developed the Sundays at 7 series. In 2016, Margaret was honored with Life Membership and was elected to serve on the board again. She is proud to be a participant in the remarkable legacy of Elmwood Playhouse.
