Elmwood Playhouse of Nyack, NY presents The 39 Steps, adapted for the stage by Patrick Barlow and directed at Elmwood by Margaret Young. The 39 Steps is a wild, theatrical riff on Alfred Hitchcock’s classic film. The 39 Steps runs weekends May 15 through June 6, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm, Sundays at 2 pm, with a Thursday night captioned performance on June 4 at 8 pm. Throughout the run of the show, the work of the artists of Nyack Art Collective will be on exhibit in Elmwood’s lobby gallery. Opening night ticket holders are invited to a pre-show gallery reception. Tickets for all performances are $32 / $29 for seniors, service members, and youth.
From an epic train chase to a feisty love interest, this roller-coaster ride of a comic spy story combines thrills with laughs as four talented actors portray more than 100 characters with dazzling virtuosity on a rotating set! The New York Times calls it “absurdly enjoyable.”
The 39 Steps features Rob Eigenbrod (of Bergenfield, NJ), Traci Redmond (of Dobbs Ferry, NY), Christine Gnieski (of Nyack, NY), Rob Webber (of Sparkill, NY).
