The Book of Will to Open March 13

Coming to to the Elmwood stage in Nyack this March: The Book of Will, written by Lauren Gunderson and directed at Elmwood by Lisa Spielman. The talented cast includes Adam Bloom, Michael Fleischer, Ted Odell, Alison Costello, Andrew Greenway, Amanda Bloom, Meg Sewell, Charlie Scatamacchia, Todd Brown, Ralph Bowers, Hedieh Fidanza, Polly Corman, Sierra Liden, and Liam Thomas. They play the people who knew Shakespeare as “Will,” a friend, a drinking buddy, a colleague–and, yes, a playwright. After Shakespeare’s death, the people who knew and loved him come together to collect and preserve his works before the works are lost to plagiarism and bastardization. Combining fact and imagination, humor and sentiment, The Book of Will is a story of friendship, loss, and legacy that is as uplifting as it is entertaining.
