The La Cage Aux Folles actors were taught the art of drag queen makeup on Saturday April 24th when Michael Barrett, professional drag queen, came to Elmwood. The time flew by as Michael shared his expertise and numerous funny anecdotes in the process. He guided everyone through the steps, as he worked his magic on Tom Kiely who will be playing Jacob. Everyone was instructed to make-up half their face and the results were unbelievable.

Actors are not the only ones being transformed. The set designers are working tirelessly to create an evolving set, one that transports you to the beaches of Saint-Tropez one moment and a cafe or a night club the next. La Cage Aux Folles focuses on a gay couple: Georges, the manager of a Saint-Tropez nightclub featuring drag entertainment, and Albin, his romantic partner and star attraction, and the farcical adventures that ensue when Georges’s son, Jean-Michel, brings home his fiancee’s ultra-conservative parents to meet them.
