Upcoming Construction Opportunities at Elmwood Community Playhouse
The Set Construction committee announces the following upcoming construction dates at the Elmwood Community Playhouse Shop:
Saturday March 18th – 10 am – 4 pm
Saturday March 25th – 10 am – 4 pm
Saturday April 1st – 10 am – 4 pm
Saturday April 1st is also our first Shop Orientation Day, from 10 am – Noon. This orientation is intended to give volunteers a sense of the capabilities and layout of our current shop space. We continue to improve and adjust our space, and the locations of stuff have also changed. If you’re interested in learning more about our shop space, April 1st is your day!
Sunday April 2nd is our turnover day. Pride and Prejudice gets packed up and put away and The Shape of Things finally gets on-stage. Many hands make light work!
Looking ahead, the turnover for Sherlock (Sunday June 4th) will be challenging – the production has embraced an arena seating arrangement (seating on two sides, action in-between), so extra hands are needed to drop a portion of our modular stage and set additional risers, railings and steps in place.
We’ve also established an email list of volunteers interested in construction – the goal is to better serve our volunteers who have an interest in learning about fabricating and installing sets. If you’re interested in becoming a part of this experiment please reach out to the committee. All skill sets are welcome!
