Bernie is an award-winning writer/producer for theater, industrials and events. Bernie co-wrote the book and lyrics for the Off-Broadway musical The Prince and the Pauper, which played at the Lamb’s Theatre in 2002 and 2003; and contributed lyrics to A Christmas Survival Guide (both published by Samuel French). At Elmwood, he performed in Little Shop of Horrors, Into the Woods, Tim, Assassins, and The Real Inspector Hound. He directed The Super, Fantastic, Magical Adventures of Bob, Fools and the American premiere of Israel Horovitz’s Man in Snow. His work has been on “Sesame Street” and “Nickelodeon,” at BAM, 92nd Street Y, Queens Theatre in the Park and Lincoln Center’s Outdoor Festival. Bernie also has written a number of musicals for The Hudson Vagabond Puppets, including The Mammoth Follies and Butterfly!, both currently on tour.
