Kimberly Hawkey

is a Nyack-newbie who is grateful to make her Elmwood debut in her dream role after an eight year acting hiatus – phew! An award-winning vocalist and interpreter of the Great American Songbook, she is the recipient of the Oxnard Gold Medal and Johnny Mercer Award from the 2013 American Traditions Vocal Competition in Georgia, and was named winner of The Cabaret Showdown, The All-Star Cabaret Showdown, and last year’s Jazz Forum Arts Vocal Competition in Dobbs Ferry. Her 1940’s-style band, The Swingaroos, will perform their original music at Elmwood’s Sundays@7 on December 7. Kimberly enjoys teaching music, playing tenor banjo, and writing plays. For Chris Cain.
