With Gratitude and Thanks

 In News

Here it is, Sunday June 9th at 3 pm, and I’m sitting in my garden sipping an IPA and listening to Harry Connick Jr. Thanks to an amazing turnout today we took apart everything that kept coming apart during the run of The Play That Goes Wrong and restored our theatre to a mostly black box space once again. The transformation is complete and we set our sights on the next production. Like we have for many, many years. This show will stay with me forever, partly because of the huge challenge I faced making the tough stuff seem easy but mostly for the way our group of artisans and craftspeople took my vision and ideas and transformed the set into something amazing, and how a special group of backstage ninjas kept all the moving parts moving. And falling. And breaking. The same way every night. There are a bunch of folks to thank, but I need to single out the Preview Day Crew of Chantale, David, Margaret, Kathy Simpson, Albert, Linnea and James Gardner for their finishing touches. When I walked into the theatre that day and witnessed their handiwork I was without words. David summed it up best – “It takes a village”. It certainly does. I’m really proud of this village.
